For all people to belong in STEM, there must be change. Culture change occurs when we start to think about and question the narratives, hidden and explicit, that we accept about the spaces in which we do math. In each of Dr. Winger's speaking engagements and workshops, he lovingly challenges the ways in which we do things in terms of identity and problematic STEM norms that persist and hold us back. Below, have a look at some partners in this work and a small sampling of some instances of talks and workshops that have been conducted.
Dr. Winger has had the opportunity to work closely with multiple institutions and schools districts in transforming their cultures and practices to become more welcoming for all students, particularly those who are underrepresented in the disciplines.
